it's raining on the windowpane
the sky is crying. why?
the trees are dead and cold in winter
the stormclouds fill the sky
the beating rain is soothing me
depressing as that seems
it's washing off the mask i've made
it takes my broken dreams
i close my eyes, remembering
the way it used to be
the way we'd talk and laugh, just friends
when it was him and me
i bite my lip and clench my fists
willing the thoughts away
i'd rather think of nothingness
than be remembering today
they force me to sit quietly
they stifle all my thoughts
if freedom isn't free for me
can freedom still be bought?
i shake my head, and shake the thought
there never was a chance
my bare feet spin, but make no noise
and all alone, i dance.

I just happened upon your blog, and thought, what the heck I will leave a comment. By the way my name is also Kira! Anyways, I love your poem! I just really got into it as I started to read it. Keep it up! (By the way, I think our name is the coolest ever!) -Kira :P
